Job Description: The position of a cook is more than just cooking meals in a facility setting. It includes providing food service to patients in a cost-effective, efficient manner to safely meet patient needs in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

This job has part-time hours available. You must be able to work holidays if scheduled.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Using the menus provided for the dietary requirements of each patient and the food purchased by the Dietary Manager, the cook prepares food for each meal.
  • Prepare and serve patients' diets by diet orders and daily menus. 
  • Assist the Dietary Manager in determining the amount and type of food necessary to prepare the daily menus.
  • Monitor the use of food to eliminate waste.
  • Follow posted menus and standardized recipes for food preparation.
  • Stock food in compliance with dietary policies and procedures.
  • Clean up after meals and clean the kitchen completely. 
  • Serve and protect the community by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and Idaho standards as well as company policy.
