Quality Manicurists are vital to the success of a Hammer & Nails® | Grooming Shop for Guys. Manicurists MUST be licensed per state guidelines and should be ready to sign a non-disclosure/non-compete agreement. The ideal applicant must be outgoing, cheerful, engaging, energetic, and resourceful.

Manicurists use a variety of tools, some implements are sharp, including nail clippers, nail files and specialized cuticle tools. Staying focused on their work and keeping their tools clean and sanitary is of vital importance.

NOTE: You are required to comply with all regulations governing manicurists in your area.

Reports to: Owner and Management

Job Overview:
  • Manicurists perform hand and foot treatments for our clients.
  • They must have excellent cleanliness and sanitation skills.
  • They must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to learn and retain all service protocols.
  • Must hold and maintain a current state license as required.

Qualifications:
  • Full-time availability, a minimum of 35 to 40 hours per week on a set schedule and weekends.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic shop environment and have a positive demeanor.
  • Maintain professional tools in working order and free of rust- Nail clippers, cuticle nippers, cuticle pusher. Tools are supplied by Hammer & Nails Brea.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors and clients.
  • Must have at least one year of professional experience.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform manicures and pedicures with precision for each client.
  • Assess any hand/foot problems or conditions, and suggest appropriate treatment based on client needs.
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the shop’s policies and procedures.
  • Recommend future visits and treatment as well as retail products for clients’ at-home usage.
  • Ensure clients feel welcome when they arrive for their appointments.
  • Maintain shop appearance and cleanliness.
  • Stock and maintain stations according to standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with washing and folding of all linens used in the shop.
  • Assist in selling memberships for the shop.
  • Arrive prior to start of shift with enough time to prepare for the day
  • Maintain and increase knowledge of product lines by attending new product promotions, in-house instruction, and education/training classes.
  • Assist in all areas of shop operation as requested by management.
