California Drywall is currently seeking a Project Manager for its Acoustical & Specialty Ceiling Division.  The Project Manager will be responsible managing Acoustical & Specialty Ceiling projects that range in value, but often exceed $1,000,000.  The project manager will lead the company’s efforts during the construction and close-out of a project, working closely with others within the company, the general contractor, architects, owners, and other subcontractors to deliver a timely and successful project to our clients. This individual will also work closely with California Drywall’s internal team (Estimators, Superintendents, Purchasing, Safety, Field Personnel, Finance, etc.) to ensure that the company’s goals (profitability, safety, quality) are met or exceeded for each project. RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Manage projects to achieve or beat financial, safety, quality, other objectives set by California Drywall.
  • Lead the well-organized, professional delivery of Cal Drywall products and services to ensure a successful project for our Clients.
  • Work with estimators, purchasing, safety and superintendents on successful bids to provide a smooth and thorough transition to the project team.
  • Set-up, budget, organizing, schedule and manage assigned projects.
  • Identify potential value engineered details and/or materials to minimize project costs.
  • Estimate material requirements.
  • Develop and coordinate budgets and schedules.
  • Price, negotiate and track change order requests and RFI’s.
  • Identify potential challenges related to schedule, means and methods, coordination, etc. on a project and take a proactive approach to coming up with the best possible solution.
  • Monitor and manage project labor and costs as compared with the budget.
  • Address and resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Manage resources and analyze data to improve our ability to spot and solve problem conditions.
  • Address general contractor and owner issues to assure customer satisfaction is constantly achieved.
  • Act as liaison between California Drywall and the client.
  • Represent California Drywall in the most professional manner.
  • Build and maintain enduring relationships with clients and other contacts industry wide. 
  • Promote a team approach and participate in the improvement of California Drywall.

REQUIREMENTS:To be eligible to perform this job, an individual must possess the following:
  • 4 year related degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or field experience.
  • 2+ years estimating/project management experience for commercial paint projects, including:
    • Acoustical Drop-in Ceilings.
    • Specialty Metal Ceilings Systems.
    • Wood and Composite Ceiling Systems.
    • Linear Designed Ceiling Systems.
    • Fabric Stretched Ceiling Systems.
    • Cloud and Canopy Ceiling Systems.
    • Translucent Material Ceiling Systems.
    • Acoustical Wall Panels.
  • A demonstrated track record of successful project management of projects $1,000,000+, 
  • Proven track record for working well for/with General Contractors.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of  codes and construction techniques as they relates to our business as well as how they interrelate with other trades and overall job schedules.
  • Good business judgment and the ability to apply common sense in solving problems.
  • Attention to detail, follow-through and timeliness.
  • Above average computer skills including experience with:
    • Scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, etc.)
    • Estimating software (On Center Quick Bid, On Screen Take Off, etc.), 
    • BIM modeling software (Revit, etc.)
    • Outlook, Word, Excel. etc.
    • Construction software (PlanGrid, Bluebeam, Procore, etc.)
  • Have a strong network of longstanding relationships with General Contractors.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans.
  • Ability to work independently and perform well under tight deadlines,
  • Must be personable and possess good communication skills – ability to interact with General Contractors, Architects, Construction Managers, Owners, Consultants, Vendors and Internal Team.
