We are seeking a Math Interventionist to join AmeriSchools at our Phoenix campus. - Supports primary teachers in the appropriate identification of students in kindergarten through grade 5 needing reading or math intervention.
- Provides one-on-one and small group reading instruction to students needing reading or math intervention.
- Works with classroom teachers for intervention support, as needed.
- Plans and uses appropriate, research-based instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of identified students in reading and math.
- Uses assessment data to drive instructional decisions daily.
- Develops and implements lesson plans and small group activities, consistent with State standards and current research methodology.
- Provides students with specific evaluative feedback.
- Communicates effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Organizes the educational setting effectively, including non-instructional aspects of the classroom.
- Assists teachers with assessment of students to identify primary grade students academically at risk in reading or math.
- Communicates with school personnel regarding student assessment levels and rate of progress, when necessary.
- Serves as a resource to classroom teachers to ensure that the specialized needs of students are met.
- Demonstrates responsibilities including, but not limited to: parent communication, data collection, attendance at meetings, and enforcement of discipline standards.
- Participates in professional growth activities.
- Collaborates with administration to create professional development to support classroom teachers.
- Supports and follows school regulations and Board policies.
- Performs other duties as requested or needed.
- Maintains effective relationships with community, administration, and students.
- Perform other tasks or assume other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Mandatory Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in the area of reading and math intervention.
- Effective strategies to teach reading and math skills and comprehension strategies to struggling primary grade students.
- Instructional needs of English learners.
- Planning, designing and implementing effective, research-based differentiated intervention lessons in academic content areas.
- The use of technology in the delivery of curriculum and in the management of student data and assessment.
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs at times.
- Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
