Electrical Superintendent

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directs and accurately manages Journeyman and apprentices/helpers on large company projects.
- Has the ability to monitor work in progress.
- Knowledge to accurately oversee time reporting and proper coding of timesheets.
- Has the ability/knowledge to fairly evaluate fellow employees' work performance.
- Must have the ability to coordinate job progress with other trades, contractors, owners, etc.
- Schedule timely inspections to meet assigned project deadlines.
- Directs the work of the foremen, journeymen, unlicensed journeymen, and apprentices, which includes disciplining foremen, journeymen, and apprentices as necessary, assigning job duties, resolving employee grievances, suspending, and transferring employees, recommending hiring, firing, promotion, and layoffs
- Clearly understands and complies with Company/Job Safety Requirements. (O.S.H.A.)
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Positively identify the colors of wires.
- Comprehends reading and drawing prints and schematics of same.
- Must use all power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches.
- Bend conduit by hand with hand benders.
- Must be capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or equipment.
- Able to use 2 handed tools/equipment. (i.e. cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jackhammers, etc.)
- Operate equipment, trenchers, backhoes, and lift trucks in a safe manner.
- Practices and comprehends safe work procedures as outlined in DKD’s Safety Manual, Haz-Com Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy.
- Solar field experience is a plus.
- Willing to travel.
Education and Experience Required:
- Journeyman or Masters License; valid driver’s license.
- High School graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent training.
- Minimum of 6 years of previous experience and 2 years of management experience.
- May be required to operate straight or automatic transmission-style vehicles.
Working Conditions/Physical Functions:
- Mandatory compliance with all DKD Policies and Procedures.
- Mandatory compliance with all Owner and General Contractor Policies and Procedures.
- Mandatory compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
- The job may require working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, or snow.
- Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities. (Porta-Johns).
- Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
- Ability to lift oneself workloads of 51 lbs.
- Possesses good vision/hearing. (Normal or corrected).
- Ability to work 8 hours per day, night shift, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required with little or on short notice.
- Must wear personal protective equipment at all times. (i.e. Hard hats, safety glasses, and safety harnesses as required) and respirators when required.
- Perform work at various heights, up to 90 ' from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, roofs, or other safe work areas.
- Work in restrictive/tight areas. ( i.e. switchgear rooms, crawl spaces, utility tunnels, attics, etc.).
