Role Summary:

We seek a Maintenance Technician for our Indeck Ladysmith Biofuel facility, a 90,000 ton/year producer of high-quality wood pellets for use as heating, BBQ fuel and animal bedding.  The Ladysmith, WI facility came on line in 2009, and has quickly established itself by providing a consistent, high-performing products as well as exceptional customer service.  We are amongst just a few producers nationwide that have been qualified by the Pellet Fuels Institute (PFI) Standards Program.  The Maintenance Technician works in a manufacturing environment and contributes to ensuring all mechanical and electrical systems within the facility are performing properly and supporting the achievement of plant goals and objectives.

Responsibilities: 
  • Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains equipment.
  • Performs general and preventive maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Performs non-certified welding, cutting, and fabrication as required.
  • Working knowledge of motor load centers, power distribution systems and motor/electrical controls.
  • Perform daily and weekly housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follows company safety rules, and uses appropriate PPE and safety gear provided.

Desired Skills & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Two years of demonstrated work experience performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on manufacturing and plant equipment, machinery and controls.
  • A solid working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of working with and around 480 volt and low voltage wiring.
  • Basic PLC knowledge.
  • Must be flexible, reliable, work well with others, and be extremely safety-oriented.
