JOB TITLE: Laborer/Forklift Operator.
REPORTS TO: Feeder Yard Manager.
JOB TYPE: Full-time, Non-Exempt.
LOCATION: Metalico Niagara Falls (2133 Maple Ave. Niagara Falls, NY 14305).
HOURS: Monday - Friday 7:15 AM - 4:00 PM, Saturdays 7:30 AM-12:00 PM.
COMPENSATION: $16-18/hr, based on experience & skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Load and unload scrap metal materials.
  • Clean and prepare the job site in a tidy and safe manner.
  • Use a variety of tools and machines: blowtorches, forklifts, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment.
  • Sort and process scrap metal according to grade and size.
  • Communicate with managers, supervisors, co-workers, and customers clearly and respectfully.
  • Must be able to work the assigned schedule.
  • Must be able to perform a variety of tasks in all kinds of weather/seasons.
  • Required to wear proper PPE (steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Able to operate bobcats, forklifts, and loaders is a plus.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
  • Knowledge of the various ferrous and non-ferrous metals is a plus.
  • Quick learner who can follow directions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Team player.
  • Organized, consistent, and good at multitasking.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to work.
  • Prior to hire - must be able to pass a pre-employment physical or drug screening.
