Virginia Power Solutions is looking for a Licensed Gas Fitter to join our growing team
Responsibilities:
  • Load and operate truck/van and trailer properly to get material/equipment to/from jobsite safely.
  • Operate a tracked machine to load/move materials/equipment safely.
  • Operate trenching equipment safely.
  • Install gas piping on house, under house, in attic and in ground to meet local code.
  • Transport and install leased /purchased LP tanks(s) safely.
  • Introduce methanol/LP as needed into LP tanks(s).
  • Install electrical wire in the trench as needed.
  • Prepare work for rough-in inspections.
  • Make final connections as needed.
  • Install site tubes and backfill trenches as required.
  • Coordinate with Inspectors as needed.
  • Add material/tasks to jobs as required.
  • Maintain vehicle stock and tool inventory.
  • Maintain vehicle and trailers.
  • Communicate with the Inventory Manager, Install Manager, and Service Manager as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and quote gas repairs.
  • Help install crew as needed.
  • Complete final inspection as needed.
  • Perform meter upgrades as needed.
  • Activate generators as needed.
  • Process receipts/POs as required.
  • Assist Power Advisors with gas questions.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in Generator or other related fields.
  • Must have and maintain an up-to-date Gas Fitter License.
  • Possess a gas safety certification.
  • Ability to handle physical workload.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Possess a clean driving record.
  • Possess a gas safety certification.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and drawings.
  • Have a working Smartphone.
  • Be able to work an iPad and keep up with changing technology.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
