Job Summary: Under supervision and direction of Production Supervisor, Compounder I, is involved in all areas of processing compounds, and is expected to complete projects in a safe manner.
Essential Job Functions:
- Dispenses and packages finished products and or intermediates approved by QC.
- Check materials for appropriate characteristics, following formula instructions for the compound.
- Mixes materials together using heating or cooling methods when needed.
- Dispenses package products include verifying container type on order, locating and verifying materials to match order and labels, generating product sample labels, inspecting exterior and interior of containers before filing and handling, and subdividing repack.
- Reports problems to management.
- Operates forklift and Hi-Lo’s in a safe manner.
- Maintains housekeeping of assigned areas.
- Follows all safety policies, procedures, and GMPs and maintains an orderly and clean work area.
- Other requirements deemed necessary by the Production Supervisor.
- Ensure all processes and procedures related to inventory management are maintained and followed. Includes but not limited to inventory movements related to production regarding quantities consumed, and proper storage.
- Follow FIFO rules.
Experience: 1-year previous fragrance compounding experience or 2 years as a Material Handler in the fragrance industry. Knowledge of metric weight systems, conversions, and basic arithmetic skills required. Basic understanding of equipment.
Competencies: The candidate must be able to clearly speak, read, and write English. As well as be proficient in the use of computers. This position requires use of a forklift and Hi-Lo, so the candidate must be alert, ready, and focused.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be capable of regularly being required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance. The employee is regularly required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear during an 8 - 12-hour work shift. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of materials on a repetitive basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
