GIS Technician

Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS Specialist responsible for ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and currency of GIS network data. The role involves using GIS editing best practices to process edits from various sources, including installations, repairs, relocations, and field data collection. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise, and a strong understanding of advanced GIS concepts.

• Title: GIS Technician
• Client: American Water
• Duration: 6 Months Contract
• Location: 100 South 17th Street Camden NJ 08105

Responsibilities:

• Ensure GIS network data is complete, accurate, and current using standard operating procedures and GIS editing best practices.
• Gather, interpret, and process data from various sources, including installations, replacements, relocations, repairs, excavations, GNSS data collection, and QAQC-identified cleanups.
• Utilize GIS technology to create, update, manipulate, and maintain spatial and non-spatial data.
• Support the GIS team by providing operational and ad hoc updates.
• Work with large datasets and advanced GIS concepts, ensuring the quality and integrity of GIS data.
• Use ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise tools, including services, dashboards, maps, Survey123, and ArcPro. ArcMap may be used on a case-by-case basis.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Proficiency in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Familiarity with GIS online services, dashboards, maps, and Survey123.
• Experience with ArcPro is preferred; ArcMap experience is a plus.
• Strong GIS conceptualization skills and the ability to work with large datasets.
• Understanding of advanced GIS concepts and toolsets.
• Utility experience is a plus but not required.

Education/Certifications:

• ESRI Certifications are a plus.
• GIS coursework or GIS technical certifications.
• Equivalent Military MOS experience in GIS or related fields is highly valued.
