In this role, you have the opportunity to expand your skill set in various areas and master new trades, including metal polishing, finishing, spray painting, and machinery, through training in an advanced manufacturing facility.
In Juniper, you can create your course, challenge yourself to acquire new skills, build new relationships, and advance in a rewarding and fulfilling career.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Polishing brass and aluminum parts using a variety of stationary and portable grinders, buffing wheels, and sanders.
- Grind, sand, clean, or polish parts to correct defects or prepare surfaces using hand and power tools for further finishing.
- Perform surface pre-treatment, conditioning, and cleaning to prepare for patina application on brass and copper.
- Assist Industrial Painter with prepping, mixing paint, and spraying parts.
- Fabricate brass and aluminum components using drills, saws, sanders, polishers, and hand tools.
- Assist the Lead CNC Machinist with setting up and operating milling machines, lathes, grinders, sanders, and other equipment according to established procedures and guidelines.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of experience working in a production environment.
- Experience working with brass and aluminum is a plus.
- Experience in one or more areas of polishing, industrial painting, and welding.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Proficient with power tools.
- Diligence, attention to detail, and good eyesight.
- Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Excellent reading comprehension and capacity to follow written directions.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
