Full Job DescriptionWe are offering independent contractors the opportunity to work with our adoption agency to serve families in your area. This is not a salaried or hourly position. This is a paid-per-task position.

Adoptions From the Heart is seeking two Adoption Social Workers (Contract-role-create your own schedule). 
  • One position is to travel throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Bronx, and Queens area.
  • Another position is to travel throughout Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, Long Island, West Chester, Putnam and Orange
 Qualifications:A Master’s Degree in Social Work, NY Social Work License plus two years of experience with adoptions and/or child welfare foster care. An understanding and knowledge of New York Adoption laws. Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines. Responsibilities:Under the New York Program Manager, consultants work with prospective adoptive parent(s) seeking to adopt. Responsibilities include counseling, assessing, training, completing home studies, post placement visits. Consultants are assigned cases by the agency and provide support to families during their duration with the agency, from application to finalization. We are open to workers who want to travel to cover a larger area, and travel, bus, train, postage, etc are reimbursed. Social workers will need to meet with adoptive families in the home or community.
