Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to achieve favorable pricing and service levels.
- Analyze purchasing data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for improvement in the procurement process.
- Conduct research on market conditions, supplier performance, and emerging trends to inform purchasing decisions.
- Manage purchase orders from creation to completion, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain teams to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Evaluate cost structures and pricing strategies to ensure competitive pricing and identify opportunities for cost reductions.
- Track and report on supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and responsiveness, to ensure compliance with contract terms.
- Work closely with internal teams, including finance, production, and logistics, to align purchasing activities with company goals.
- Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance for senior management.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a procurement, buyer, or analyst role, preferably in a manufacturing or retail environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management principles.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift, carry, and pull up to 50 pounds at times
