Role and Responsibilities:
  • Execution of the planned and preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting by applying critical thinking skills to identify, diagnose, and repair equipment problems.
  • Must be able to analyze and understand blueprints, schematics, layout plans, and other materials.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in hydraulics, lubrication, and mechanical equipment; basic understanding of types of lubricants and application of each.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a timely and safe manner.
  • Maintain all equipment, tools, and workstations.
  • Ability to utilize skills to improve equipment optimization and reliability.
  • Maintain logs, and recorded labor, materials, and equipment used.
  • Effectively communicate to all team members and management any equipment deficiencies.
  • Meticulous attention to detail; able to follow instructions both written and verbal.
  • Participate in breakdown analysis, root cause analysis, focused improvement, and 5s projects.
  • Ensure workers adhere to local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education; trade school or college preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years relevant work experience as a Millwright/Industrial Mechanic required.
  • Minimum 3 years of Plant Manufacturing Experience.
  • Ability to work independently and Utilize Critical Problem Solving and Decision-Making skills to Generate and Implement Solutions throughout the Process.
  • Must maintain Compliance within all LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, and Working at Heights Policies.
  • OSHA 10 Training and Experience.
  • Experience with MiG and stick welding.
  • Exceptional Mechanical aptitude and willingness to assist in all tasks, jobs, and repairs.
  • Ability to work extended hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work at heights in excess of 80 feet, use man lifts and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work outdoors, rotating shifts, and lifting 50 pounds required.

Highland Pellets Benefit Package:
  • Medical - Employee premiums are paid to a total of $500 per month. (this covers employees only and some children/spouses if that coverage is chosen).
  • Dental - Employee-only premium paid.
  • Vision - Employee-only premium paid.
  • Short Term and Long Term Disability coverage paid.
  • $100,000 of Employer Paid Life Insurance (65% at age 65, 50% at age 70) coverage paid, with an additional Voluntary Life option Employee paid up to 5x the annual salaried wage.
  • 401K Employer match 100% up to 3% and 50% up to 5%.
  • Two weeks vacation (prorated based on start or term date) accruing at 1.54 hours per pay period as of the first week of work.
  • 10 paid Holidays.
