We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team and assist in maintaining our culinary excellence.

Position Summary:
The Sous Chef plays a critical role in our kitchen, assisting the Head Chef or Executive Chef in food preparation, kitchen management, and maintaining high standards of food quality. This position requires a strong culinary background, creativity, leadership, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
The Sous Chef's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Food Preparation:
  • Assist in planning and preparing a wide range of culinary creations.
  • Supervise food preparation, ensuring quality, presentation, and adherence to recipes.

Kitchen Management:
  • Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef or Executive Chef.
  • Monitor food safety and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and safe kitchen.

Menu Development:
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef or Executive Chef to create and update menus.
  • Provide input on new dishes, special features, and seasonal offerings.

Staff Training and Development:
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring they meet culinary standards.
  • Lead by example and foster a positive work environment.

Inventory and Ordering:
  • Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain proper stock rotation.
  • Monitor food costs and assist in budget management.

Quality Control:
  • Conduct taste tests and inspections to maintain food quality and consistency.
  • Ensure that food is prepared and presented to meet high-quality standards.

Recipe and SOP Development:
  • Develop and maintain culinary recipes and standard operating procedures.
  • Update cooking techniques and processes as necessary.

Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and serviced.

Guest Satisfaction:
  • Work closely with front-of-house staff to address guest preferences and special requests.
  • Address any customer feedback or concerns in a professional and timely manner.

Qualifications:
  • Culinary degree or equivalent culinary certification (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role.
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
  • Leadership and management abilities with a positive and motivating attitude.
  • Proficiency in kitchen equipment and culinary software.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
