Kennel Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Kennel Manager to join our team at our prestigious dog resort. As the Kennel Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our canine guests, while leading a team of dedicated kennel staff. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around overseeing daily operations, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and delivering exceptional care to our furry guests and their owners.
Responsibilities:Kennel Operations Management:
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the kennel, ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to established protocols and standards.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kennel facilities, including kennel runs, play areas, and common spaces.
  • Develop and implement efficient scheduling for staff to ensure proper coverage and excellent service at all times.

Canine Care and Wellness:
  • Oversee and participate in the feeding, grooming, and exercise routines of all dogs, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Monitor the health and behavior of canine guests, promptly addressing any issues or concerns and coordinating with veterinarians if necessary.
  • Administer medications and follow prescribed treatments accurately and responsibly.

Customer Relations:
  • Interact with dog owners and guests, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any inquiries or special requests.
  • Ensure that check-in and check-out procedures are efficient, friendly, and organized.

Team Leadership:
  1. Recruit, train, and mentor kennel staff, fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and dedication to excellent animal care.
  2. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement training programs to enhance staff knowledge and skills.


Safety and Security:
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to guarantee the well-being of both dogs and staff members.
  • Respond to emergencies promptly, remaining calm and composed during critical situations.
  • Facility Maintenance:
    • Collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure that the kennel facilities are in excellent condition at all times.
    • Identify any maintenance or repair needs and report them to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a kennel manager or similar role, preferably in a dog resort or boarding facility.
  • In-depth knowledge of dog behavior, breeds, and care practices.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team and interact with customers.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a passion for delivering top-notch customer service and animal care.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional extended hours.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in animal science or related fields are a plus.
