The role of the Facilities Maintenance Technician is to ensure that our concept facilities are maintained and repaired quickly and efficiently, limiting operational down time due to equipment malfunction or failure at the store level.  Equipment to be maintained includes, HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing. The Facilities Maintenance Technician should be a thorough minded individual with an attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills. Responsibilities:
  • Execute an ongoing preventative maintenance program by changing filters and belts in Roof Top Units; including reporting as required
  • Perform other basic maintenance and repair tasks on equipment and buildings, following the direction of management
  • Maintain and submit reports to document work as required via the use of iPhone app
  • Report on equipment condition such as, potential issues, equipment abuse/misuse, etc 
  • Maintain company equipment, tools and property in a safe and secure fashion
  • Partner with management in recommending items which need attention to avoid unexpected breakdowns
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with management team members
  • Adhere to all company safety and security policies
  • Securely maintain and responsibly use Company issued credit cards, cell phone and laptop computer per company policies
  • Remain flexible to work non-traditional schedule which could include nights, weekends and holidays as assigned
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license (with acceptable driving record), safely operate company issued vehicle, and travel within the state of New Jersey on a daily basis. Incumbent must live in a centrally located position to assigned locations to ensure accessibility
  • Maintain company issued vehicle ensuing regularly scheduled service, cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
  • Maintain professional image and presence at all times, including guest interactions/encounters.

Qualifications:
  • Strong electrical and HVAC experience 
  • Holds a EPA Universal License
  • 5-7+ years experience in building maintenance and construction strongly preferred
  • General knowledge of HVAC equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, and building facilities, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan and meet schedule requirements
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices; able to assess when equipment or parts are repairable and when new parts are required
  • Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment
  • Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers while maintaining the highest standards of quality
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members and vendors
  • Uses his/her time effectively and efficiently
  • Able to respond quickly and can pre-diagnose issues over the phone
  • Personally adheres to all safety guidelines and manages others to do the same 
  • Fill out paperwork legibly and on time
  • Maintains vehicle in an organized and clean manner
  • Ensures that vehicle is driven safely and traffic laws are obeyed
  • Able to work a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Has a clear and valid drivers license to operate a company vehicle
  • Has basic hand tools / gages
