Teach voice/singing lessons to students ages 4 and up, beginner to advanced levels, and be comfortable with most genres including commercial (pop/R&B), musical theatre, jazz, and classical. Prepare students for performances. Must be able to teach mic technique and stage presence.

Job Type:
  • Part-Time Position: after-school and weekend lessons available.

Requirements:
  • Fun, warm & engaging personality.
  • 1+ years experience teaching private voice lessons (groups would be a plus).
  • Play warm-up scales proficiently on the piano for vocal exercises (do not have to accompany your students).
  • Teach all genres equally well, including commercial (pop/R&B), musical theatre, jazz & classical.
  • Teach ages 4 and up & all beginner through advanced levels.
  • Teach performance skills and blocking.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare students for performances.
  • Be familiar with Speech Level Singing (chest, head & mix voice).
  • Select appropriate songs for your students.
  • Select appropriate keys and arrangements for your students.
  • Make forward progress with your students every lesson.
  • Make sure you are delivering what students want from their lessons.
  • Prepare high school students for college auditions where necessary.
