Technician / CNC operator for Glass Machine Shop

PLX is an equal opportunity employer that supports diversity in the workplace. We are looking for a Technician / CNC operator for Glass Machine Shop to join our team, with ample opportunity for growth within the company.

We are looking for a skilled machinist to operate a variety of machines to perform assigned tasks. Machinist will produce precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements. A great machinist needs to possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail. They must also have knowledge of mathematics and mechanics as well as respect for safety precautions.

Responsibilities include:
  • Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Experience in using machines (surface grinders, milling machines, etc.
  • Work in accordance to process procedures, work order instructions, drawings and other production documents
  • Perform detail work, which may include blocking with wax, de-blocking, cleaning, inspection and other similar functions
  • Assist with troubleshooting problems with equipment, devices or products
  • Maintain equipment. Detect and correct minor machine malfunctions and perform daily and monthly machine maintenance as directed
  • Maintain a safe, organized and clean work area

Required experience:
  • Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
  • Good at math with analytical abilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset
  • Knowledge of working on CNC with 5+ years experience a must
Pay: $28+ depending on experience
