Mechatronics - Control System Engineer

LifeFormations specializes in the design and fabrication of animated figures (animatronics), sculpted elements, exhibits, and interactive experiences. Our work can be found in leading theme parks, museums, science centers, and branded spaces all over the world. We are seeking a full-time experienced Engineer with an uncompromising commitment to excellent work to join our growing team in Cincinnati, Ohio.

As a key part of the design team, you would be responsible for integrating mechanical design with the electrical and control systems of animated figures, mechanical effects, and show-action equipment. Building upon machine design best practices, customer specifications, and industry standards, you would create designs to meet or exceed customer expectations with safety and reliability at the forefront of what we produce.

Qualifications:
  • Hands-on capability to troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic control systems.
  • Ability to specify motors, drives, cabling, sensors, and electrical components.
  • Create Electrical Schematics and Control Diagrams.
  • Participate in Risk Analysis and DFMEA exercises.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients.
  • Driven to be the best in their field; holds self to a very high standard of quality and performance.
  • Willing to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.

Education and Experience:
  • At least 3 years of Experience.
  • Mechatronics Engineer, Controls Systems Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Robotics Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or Controls Technician with equivalent field experience.
  • Highly Desired: Previous experience designing Animatronics, Material Handling, Pick and Place, Conveyors, or Robotics.
