Position Title: Director of Youth DevelopmentReports to: Executive Director
Position Overview:

The Director of Youth Development will lead and manage all aspects of the youth development programs within a well-established non-profit organization. This includes overseeing staff, managing financials, ensuring compliance with community and licensing regulations, and enhancing program effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a background in non-profit management, and the ability to obtain additional relevant certifications.

Key Responsibilities:Program Management:
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate youth development programs to meet organizational goals and community needs.
  • Ensure programs are aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Staff Supervision:
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate youth development staff.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for staff.
Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, including budget variances.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants and donations.
Community Engagement:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including schools, parents, and local organizations.
  • Represent the organization at community events and meetings.
  • Collaborate with other community agencies to enhance program offerings and outreach.
Licensing and Compliance:
  • Ensure all programs comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for licensing purposes.
  • Prepare for and respond to audits and inspections.
Additional Certifications:
  • Identify and obtain additional certifications relevant to youth development and program management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and standards to continually improve program quality.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Non-Profit Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a non-profit organization, specifically in youth development.
  • Strong understanding of non-profit financial management and fundraising.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and obtaining additional certifications as needed.
