We strongly encourage members of underrepresented groups, veterans, multi-lingual individuals to apply for our open positions.   We invite highly skilled, dedicated professionals to join our team of therapists, educators, nurses, and counselors.  We have an opportunity for a Special Educator in our Early Supports for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) program.   POSITION SUMMARY  Special EducatorProgram:  ESIT           Location:  North Snohomish County            Schedule:  1.0 FTE       Salary: $30.50/hr - $34.00/hrResponsible for providing individual and consultative educational services for children who have delays in their development. Emphasis on building parent capacity to support child’s learning and development, using parent coaching strategies to increase child’s participation in daily routines.  Serves as primary coach for assigned cases.  Provides care in natural learning environments.  May be responsible for leading play groups in collaboration with other community programs.   JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Provides educational services in the child’s natural learning environments (home and community settings). 
  • Utilizes parent coaching approaches (training provided) to build parent capacity for enhancing the daily routines of the child/family.  
  • Serves as a primary parent coach for assigned cases with support from team members to promote family participation in the child’s outcomes. 
  • Participates in the development and implementation of services documented in the IFSP. 
  • Collaborates with members of the multi-disciplinary team, at weekly team meetings (and more often as needed) to provide discipline specific support and information. 
  • Acts as an educational consultant to staff and parents/families as needed. 
 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of BS/BA or MS degree in Early Childhood Development and three years experience in early childhood special education
  • Must have a current Washington State Teaching Certificate with Early Childhood Special Education endorsement
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.  
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.  
  • Must have ability to work easily with co-workers, families, and outside agencies in a professional and tactful manner.  
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.   
  • Provide services in natural environments, using a parent coaching model.  
  • Must possess a valid WA state driver’s license, have state required minimum automobile insurance, and be able to use own vehicle on the job.
