Responsibility:
  • The Family Specialist position will be responsible for providing continuity of care, with the goal of permanent placement, for adolescents in the custody of the DCBS through a case management model that includes a team approach, developing, expanding, accessing, and linking resources in the community to the needs of the child throughout the child’s experience in the system, while documenting the progress
  • The population served will be adolescents, many of which have experienced significant trauma and multiple family displacements and disruptions in their young lives
Qualifications:
  • Ability to be non-reactive in the midst of crisis situations
  • Trauma-informed philosophy and congruent behaviors
  • Experience and ability to work with adults and children from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic environments
  • All Case Managers at Kulima Care will successfully complete CM Certification  
  • A valid driver’s license, 
  • All potential job candidates must pass an extensive background check 
Minimal Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field 
  • A minimum of 5 years of job experience in foster care or related community-based casework, and/or working with youth and families.
