Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma
- Valid RN/LPN license from the Tennessee Board of Nursing
- First Aid, CPR/BLS, and AED Certification
- Must have pediatric experience
Responsibilities:
- Mandated screenings and assessments within 45 days of the child’s enrollment.
- Direct nursing services to assigned students, based on the individual student’s educational need, health care plan and physician’s orders.
- Medical treatments to assigned students, based on the individual student’s educational needs, health care plan and physician’s orders.
- Provide information as requested by the Early Childhood staff as well as participate in parent conferences and IEP meetings.
- Provide, and track sessions of approved health education awareness presentations-appropriate documentation is required and expected.
- Respond to emergencies and provide medical attention when needed.
- Accompany/assist MSCS Health Services Lead Nursing Staff on issues regarding absenteeism, health conditions, and other health concerns when warranted.
- Accompany students on the bus during field trips if needed.
- Develop an electronic comprehensive list for chronic health conditions and health services monthly activity reports for each assigned school- Required and expected.
- Conduct and assist MSCS Health Services, Lead Nursing Staff with the reporting and the control of communicable diseases and immunization audits in assigned schools.
- Provide documentation according to established MSCS guidelines pertaining to care of parents/guardians or visitors using standard documentation tools, policies and practices.
