We are growing and looking for a Raw Material Buyer to join our team.

Our operations in Conway, Arkansas include metal stamping, forming, painting, and assembly. The facility utilizes stamping presses, brake presses, roll forms, lasers, shears, and a multi-stage paint process. A concept to finished products company providing parts and sub-assemblies to our customers. Approximately 100,000 square feet of floor space and 50 acres are utilized for fabrication operations.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:The Raw Material Buyer is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of required material to support production, purchasing cost targets, timing requirements, while maintaining DBG’s quality standards. Interface with external suppliers and internal groups to ensure all aspects of supply chain are reviewed and maintained.  Assists in purchasing materials, supplies and services for the organization and coordinating/expediting the flow of work according to production schedules. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Plan production material based on customer releases and production schedule.
  • Distribute vendor schedules weekly.
  • Enter and Track Purchases.  
  • Expedite required materials to support ongoing production and minimize material shortages.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Generate commodity cost estimates to build sourcing, negotiations, and supplier development strategies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to verify compliance to budget and timings.
  • Responsible for supplier performance analysis in areas of quality and delivery.
  • Maintains supplier files, purchase prices, price fluctuations, and quality records using SAP.
  • Monitor and analyze vendor costs, lead times, delivery performance and blanket orders.
  • Negotiate with current and new vendors for quotations.
  • Coordinate with plant/ production scheduler to forecast upcoming needs.
  • Partners with business stakeholders to confirm business requirements for purchases adhering to procurement processes and policies.
  • Generate, prepare and analyze reports on progress of work and inventory.
  • Provide support for both strategic issues and supplier performance issues.
  • Ensure accurate and timely information is provided to both vendors and management.
  • Maintain inventory levels adhering to DBG’s standards and / or goals.
  • Work closely with vendors to develop a mutually beneficial, long-term relationship.
  • Monitor supplier performance to mitigate risk and resolve issues.
  • Manage and optimize purchased items, deliveries, and inventory.
  • Work with various departments, including, quality, engineering, materials, and finance.
  • Promote, maintain, and encourage a safe work environment and good housekeeping for all associates.
  • Weekly physical counts to order and maintain materials for lean manufacturing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to TS1649/ISO14001/OSHAS18001 procedures.
   EDUCATION REQUIRED:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Post Secondary School in Related Courses preferred.
 EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Strong computer skills  (SAP experience preferred).
  • Experience in high-pressure situations, preferably automotive.
 RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS:
  • Knowledge of steel industry.
  • Very strong expediting skills.
  • Customer service background an asset.
  • Strong team player.
 COMPLEXITY OF TASKS:  
  • Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.
  • Accuracy in providing/reporting information is critical.
  • Strong knowledge of computer system.
