Busy Rheumatology and Chiropractic group seeks a Full-time medical biller who works to ensure the accuracy of billing submissions for outpatient medical and infusion services. Applicants should be very detail-oriented and organized, possess excellent communication skills, and once trained, be able to complete tasks independently. This position reports to the Practice Manager.

Duties:
  • Accurately enter patient demographics and patient insurance charges into the practice management/billing system (eClinicalWorks).
  • Performs systematic, consistent, and timely follow-up for both insurance and patient balances.
  • Answer and resolve billing inquiries.
  • Obtain insurance eligibility for procedures, including prior authorizations, copay assistance, and coordination of benefits.
  • Takes all appropriate action(s) to process outstanding account(s) to a final resolution.
  • Charge review claims and submissions, reconciliations, payment posting, and working appeals of denials.
  • Collection of receivables by monitoring accounts receivables resubmitting and appealing claims for outstanding and overdue accounts.
  • Ability to resolve payer rejections and denials through the appeals process as required by each payer's contracting agreements.
  • Oversight of the Credit Card on File process.
  • Assist in the preparation of daily/monthly billing and accounts receivable reports.
  • Perform other specific projects relating to billing, data entry, collections, and computer operations as required.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the healthcare insurance industry including Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and other governmental and commercial payors.
  • Experience with EMR (eClinicalWorks is preferred).
  • Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Must be a team player and yet be able to work independently.
  • Must be computer literate in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a Plus.
