About This Role:Kidde is looking for a Category Analyst Mass Retail with a passion for data and strong analytics capabilities to help grow our business. The Category Analyst Mass Retail will support profitable and sustainable sales strategies with customers and help develop advanced sales reporting and analytics capabilities for scale. This person will champion our mission to be data-driven and will possess strong interpersonal skills, robust technical and data analysis capabilities, and a natural sense of curiosity that drives them to identify trends and promote opportunities. Key Responsibilities:
  • Become an expert in translating internal knowledge into action to identify growth opportunities for the business.
  • Leverage data tools to provide reporting and insights which will further develop company and retailer objectives.
  • Uncover opportunities and provide recommendations to internal product teams and sales teams.
  • Support and develop materials for line reviews, promotional analysis, new product launches, etc.
  • Incorporate advanced consumer data (macro-level insights, market research, Household panel data) into analysis as relevant.
  • Create and maintain customer scorecards inclusive of key metrics such as volume, share, distribution, weekly sales ranks, store performance, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Responsible for developing and running weekly and monthly brand reports to help partnership teams understand trends.
  • Support sales by contributing to sales plans and sales forecasts.
  • Present findings and insights through clear and concise data visualization, charts, reports, and presentations for management and customer presentations.
  • Ability to prioritize work and key projects based on the needs of the team and the business.
  • Ad-hoc requests/projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2+ years of data analytics experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years CPG (Consumer Package Goods) experience.
  • Excel power user skill set.
  • Ability to organize data and produce clear, concise reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (Statistics, Data Analytics, Finance, or Other).
  • 3+ years’ experience in the CPG (Consumer Package Goods) industry.
  • Understanding of database concepts such as database structures, query languages (SQL), and data warehousing principles.
  • Experience working with ETL and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, other).
  • Proven track record of building collaborative relationships across functional areas.
  • Self-starter with an ability to drive projects from initiation to completion.
  • Adept at prioritizing work and key projects based on the needs of the team and the business.

  • Provides competitive analysis, market assessments, industry analysis and portfolio evaluations to support strategy and partnership decisions.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge obtained through a University degree, combined with experience.
  • Practical knowledge of Carrier organization, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
  • University Degree or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience.
