Position Overview:

The Licensed Substance Abuse Professional is a critical part of our Community Support Team, responsible for providing direct care, crisis intervention, and substance use disorder treatment. This role focuses on supporting clients through psychoeducation, relapse prevention, and personalized interventions. You will collaborate closely with the Team Lead and other medical and non-medical providers to ensure a holistic and effective care plan. Your work will directly contribute to the stability, recovery, and improved quality of life for the individuals we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

Psychoeducation & Support:
  • Provide psychoeducation and counseling as outlined in the Person-Centered Plan (PCP).
  • Assist with the development of relapse prevention and disease management strategies.
Crisis Intervention:
  • Assist with crisis intervention and support the team in managing complex client situations.
Treatment Interventions & Coordination:
  • Assist the Team Lead in delivering behavioral and substance use disorder treatment interventions.
  • Coordinate initial and ongoing assessment activities, ensuring comprehensive and accurate evaluations.
Person-Centered Planning:
  • Develop and revise the PCP based on client needs, and ensure its implementation.
  • Consult with medical and non-medical providers to gather input for the planning process.
  • Include family, community, and natural supports in the treatment and recovery planning.
Linkage & Referrals:
  • Ensure linkage to appropriate services, including psychological and psychiatric evaluations.
  • Provide intensive case management and connect clients to both formal and informal supports.
Monitoring & Follow-Up:
  • Regularly monitor client progress and document outcomes.
  • Communicate updates on client progress and effectiveness of interventions to the Team Lead.
Housing Support:
  • Assist clients with housing searches, engage with landlords, and facilitate housing stability.
  • Mitigate housing crises and support clients in maintaining stable housing.
  • Provide support for daily living skills and assist with connecting to financial and in-kind resources.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Licensure:
  • Must hold a current, active license as one of the following:
  • Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS).
Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS or LCAS-A)
  • Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC).
  • Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC).
Experience:
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment setting preferred.
Skills:
  • Strong communication, assessment, and case management skills.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and treatment planning.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and function as part of a collaborative team.
  • Reliable transportation for community-based work.
Work Environment:
  • Ability to work both in-office and in the community, with flexibility to meet clients in their homes or community settings.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Rate of Pay: $25 - $30 per billable hour.
  • Mileage Allowance: $60 per week for travel expenses.
  • Administrative Time: 6 hours per week paid at state minimum wage for team meetings and training.
  • Client Load: Start with a caseload of 12 clients.
  • Scheduling: Responsible for creating the weekly team schedule.
  • Client Interaction: Expected to meet with clients at least once a week.
