Grand River Periodontics, a private practice located in Grandville, Michigan, is looking for a full-time or part-time dental hygienist Our office has an enthusiastic team who treat patients with periodontal and dental implant needs in West Michigan. An ideal candidate can help make our patients feel comfortable and at home in our office.

Ideal Candidates:

  • Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program is required.
  • Nitrous Oxide certification*
  • Local anesthetic certification*

If you do not have these, we can help you get these certifications.

We are open M-Th 8-5. We are open to hiring part-time (1 to 3 days) or full-time (4 days) hygienists. (No late hours and we are closed on Fridays) We are a growing office and are looking to add hygiene days to our schedule to best accommodate our growing patient base. Benefits include 401k and paid time off.

Responsibilities in our hygiene column include:

  • Periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, and implant maintenance visits. These visits may include the use of nitrous oxide, local anesthetic, ultrasonic and hand instrumentation, radiographs and/or adjuncts.
  • Periodontal charting information such as probing depths, recession, mobility, keratinized tissue, mucogingival defects, furcation involvement, etc. Another team member will type this information for you while you chart.
  • Using a template note for completing treatment notes for your patients.
  • Preparing an easy-to-use template letter for your patient that is sent to their referring dentist and hygiene team.
  • Working collaboratively with the team and periodontist to create a treatment plan and oral hygiene education plan to help patients maintain or improve their dental health.
  • Patient education on oral hygiene instructions and today's standards.

If you are interested in additional surgical experience, your position may include:

  • Suture removal appointments when you are not seeing patients for maintenance or scaling and root planing.
  • Treatment coordinator role for CBCT imaging review, LANAP laser cases, or Implant planning.
