We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mammographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing mammographic imaging procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases. The Mammographer will ensure high-quality patient care and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our radiology department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality mammographic imaging procedures, including screening and diagnostic mammograms, following established protocols and standards.
- Prepare patients for mammography exams by explaining procedures, ensuring their comfort, and addressing any concerns.
- Position patients and equipment to obtain clear and accurate images while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Evaluate images for technical quality, ensuring proper identification and labeling.
- Maintain patient records and document procedures accurately in the electronic medical record system.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and assist in the diagnostic process.
- Follow safety protocols and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advancements in mammography and radiology practices.
- Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards, including ACR, FDA, and MQSA requirements.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
- Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Advanced certification in Mammography (ARRT-M) is required.
- Valid state license to practice as a Mammographer.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mammography, preferred.
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach.
