Controller Job Description:

The successful candidate will be an individual with 7-10 years of managerial accounting and financial management experience in a rapidly growing environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Directing all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, and financial reporting.
  • Analyzing company's financial results with respect to profits, costs, and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and reports to senior management.
  • Developing and coordinating all relationships with banking/financial institutions.
  • Developing and maintaining all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Assisting senior management in financial planning and results management. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.
  • Coordinating, preparing, and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Coordinating and/or preparing tax schedules, returns and information.
  • Managing all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property, sales, and other applicable taxes.
  • Managing relationships with insurance providers and ensuring compliance.
  • Managing cash flow.  Maintain bank software and treasury management compliance.
  • Building an accounting department as the company grows.
  • Managing, Coaching, and Training of all Accounting staff in the AR, AP, and administrative roles within the department.
  • Interacting with officers and board of directors.
  • Represent the company externally to government agencies and auditors.
  • Other finance and administrative duties as required.
Job-Related Qualifications:
  • Four-year degree in Finance or Accounting; Masters preferred.
  • Strong computer skills are required. Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Hardworking, energetic, and highly motivated self-starter must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines and juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels.
