Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, deaf education or any related field
- Current South Carolina Interpreter and Transliterator License
- Minimum 1 year experience providing sign language interpreting services
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the management and parents in eligibility staffing and Individual Education Plan (IEP) sessions
- Interpret from ASL to English and English to ASL for students in classroom settings
- Serve as an educational assistant and dedicate aide in the special education department as well as in a general education classroom
- Upholding the confidentiality of student records and respecting the privacy of both student and department records
- Generating evaluation reports and crafting Individual Education Plans
- Developing lesson plans and providing instruction in alignment with Individual Education Plans
- Completing encounter logs for all services provided to students within 24 hours of service
- Other duties as assigned
