Crisis Service Worker

At River Edge Developmental Disabilities Services our caring well-trained staff partner with individuals, families, loved ones and other providers to offer individualized choices, options, opportunities and supports that promote each individual's valued social roles, pursuing expanded hopes and dreams, learning new skills, and living the most independent, meaningful life possible. As a Crisis Service Worker, you will respond to children, youth and adults who experience a behavioral crisis in a community setting. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, River Edge provides individualized crisis de-escalation interventions, in-home supports and residential alternatives to emergency room visits, law enforcement involvement or another institutional placement. 

River Edge is seeking a Crisis Service Worker position in our Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Crisis Division. 

What you will do in this role:
  • Monitor general client activity to observe and report behavior/progress and when necessary intervene in problem situations using established CPI procedures.
  • Provide training and or direction to clients in a variety of areas depending on client needs.
  • Complete required documentation in client/unit records as assigned.
  • Participate in providing a clean, safe, and attractive environment for clients, visitors, and staff.
  • Assist with the Client's Admission and Discharge process.
  • Orient new clients to the facility as directed by the charge nurse.
  • Attend required meetings, training and educational opportunities as required (at least 17 hours per year) Must stay current in CPI, CPR and First Aid.

Shifts offered are as follows:Monday-Friday 7a3p OR 3p11p OR Friday/Saturday/Sunday 9p9a 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least a high school diploma/GED equivalent
  • Must have a valid state driver's license 
  • Acceptable Driving record 
  • Acceptable background check 
  • Must pass drug screen 
  • Acceptable references 
  • Ability to pass basic CPR and first aid
