Bathroom Remodel Crew

We are looking to hire 2 new select crews to work directly with our owner as subcontractors who can take a bathroom project from start to finish. Ideally you are a 2-3 man crew and can complete 2-4 bathrooms per month and work year around for us. This role is labor only with HPB buying all materials for subcontractors who can do it all and who actually are doing the work. General contractors do not apply. If you are not doing the work, then we will not hire you.

To work for us you need to be able to do a little bit of everything or have a helper that you can 100% rely on to join you onsite and do that work. Typical bathroom scope includes demo, light plumbing, light electrical, framing, sheet rock, texture (knockdown, orange peel,  & level 5 smooth finish) as well as tile shower pans, tile in the shower, storage niches, benches, paint, removing and replacing toilets, removing and replacing baseboards, relocating outlets and switches, installation of exhaust fans, plumbing and installation of complex shower fixtures, removal  & installation of vanities, mirrors, and various types of tubs from alcove, to deck mount and of course stand alone tubs with tub spouts coming out of walls or floors. You must be able to break up concrete to reposition and or relocate drains as well. 

You will bid on each job and take the ones you want. Here is an example of a job I'd like you to bid on. 
Here is a typical job description:

  • Scope: remove & replace existing tub with walk in shower, tile to the ceiling inside shower, 3” tile curb, tile shower floor, remove and replace 25 square feet of bathroom tile flooring with tile flooring, 54” vanity removed and replaced, some texture repair depending on customers choice of new mirror, swap out light bar or hang sconces, remove and replace toilet with bidet toilet adding one outlet, paint entire bathroom walls. Shower glass installed by others. 

Wine rack: remove existing wine rack and replace with 34x34” wine fridge that needs outlet added behind it for plug in. Trim out wine rack with cabinet trim to make it look as close as possible to built in. 
Austin area only. You must currently Live & work & be active on construction job sites in the Austin metro area. Do not apply if you have not been working in Austin for at least 5 years in residential kitchen and bathroom construction. If you only want to do a demo, plumbing, tile work, tile shower pans, cabinet installs, sheetrock, carpentry, countertops, or electrical, then make that known upfront.

Qualifications:
  • Bathroom & Kitchen Remodeler contractor with full crew & complete bath & kitchen remodeling capabilities.
  • You must have a license, your own insurance and have lived & worked in Austin for at least 5 years, along with having all of your equipment/tools with you in the Austin metro area. No exceptions.
  • For consideration, you must have completed at least 10 full bathroom remodels or 10 kitchen remodels within the last 6 months. If you are not currently working in bathrooms and kitchens please do not apply.
  • You will be required to submit photos of your work and specifically your tile and wet space work. If you do not have that experience please do not apply.
  • You must be able to work on a job site without promoting your own company via your marked vehicle, wearing clothes, or by directly promoting yourself to our customers directly for additional work on the side. If you have an issue with this, then please do not apply.
  • You are required to work straight through Monday-Saturday until the job is complete. For 8x5 middle bathrooms, you must complete these jobs in one weeks time. That's 1 day for demo, 1 day for plumbing, 3 days for tile pan and tile walls, and then 2 extra days for trim, paint, minor drywall and finishing work. For master bathrooms with more than 35 square foot of flooring and tile work, you will be asked to complete them in 10-14 days.

  • Just be drug-free, polite, kind, and professional as a subcontractor for our company. 
  • You must have your tools & transportation.
  • You must pass a background check & not have any felonies. 
  • Your previous employers will be contacted & you must have at least 3 references.
  • You must show pictures of your previous work in bathroom & kitchen remodeling & have established relationships with vendors in the Austin metro area.
