This position is located in Madison, WI.

Beacon Technologies is seeking a Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer for our client partner. The Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer will support our client's product team. Preference for this individual to be based at our client's office headquarters in Madison, WI (with the option of partial remote work), but open to position being fully remote. Reporting to the VP of Product and working closely with other senior team members, this individual will oversee the maintenance of our client’s mobile and web applications for both the consumer and commercial products and be the lead architect and developer of new mobile products from initial design and ideation through go-to-market launch. We’re seeking a candidate who can manage the entire software development lifecycle, including design, development, QA, and release. This candidate should have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform data modeling and ensure robust data management practices, including managing cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Utilize backend technologies like Node.js or Django, mobile engineering platforms like Flutter, Swift, or Android, and front-end development using React or Vue.js.
  • Integrate BLE communication technology into the applications.
  • Lead and facilitate discussions regarding software integration with hardware manufacturers.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree a plus).
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience leading and working cross-functionally across multiple teams.

Preferred Experiences and Skills:
  • Prior work with a start-up or work on lean software development teams.
