Position Title: Banquet Houseperson
FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt
Department: Banquets
Reports to: Banquet Manager and/or Housemen Supervisor
Principle Responsibilities & Position Purpose:
Responsible for set-up and clean-up of all banquet functions.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Average Percent of Time
70 % Set up tables and chairs to meet the function specifications.
25 % Properly clean meeting space at the beginning, during, and end of events, including not limited to vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, wiping, scrubbing Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Hilton from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to the performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following other duties, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by management based upon the particular requirements of the company.
- Completes assigned side work to include cleaning meeting space and storage space, that adhere to standard hotel products as assigned to adhere to health standards.
- Abides by all state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations about serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Attends all mandatory meetings.
- Keeps work area clean and organized.
- Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Assimilate into The Hilton Family PRIDE/CARE culture through understanding, supporting, and participating in all elements of PRIDE/CARE. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged, or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY
- Basic knowledge of Meeting Room Set up, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
- Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
- Must possess strong organizational skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods while maintaining professionalism
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent required
EXPERIENCE
Prior Banquet department experience preferred. Prior setup experience preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Ability to obtain a government license or certificate.
GROOMING/UNIFORMS
All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
OTHER
Additional language ability preferred.
NOTICE: The hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times. Upon employment, all team members are required to fully comply with Hilton rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Team members who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
