Senior Assembly Technician

As the Senior Assembly Technician, you will lead assembly operations and ensure the efficient production of high-quality products. This role involves overseeing assembly processes, troubleshooting technical issues, training assembly teams, and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance. The Senior Assembly Technician works closely with engineering and production teams to meet production targets and uphold quality standards.

- Interpret CAD drawings and instructions and follow established procedures.
- Devise best assembly methods based on review of drawings and requirements.
- Working independently, interpreting blueprints, organizing workstations, and devising custom solutions to unique problems.
- Perform wire soldering.
- Perform complex mechanical and electrical assembly operations.
- Collect all materials and equipment needed to begin assembly processes.
- Align material and put together parts to build more complex units.
- Take precision measurements to ensure the perfect fit of components.
- Select or modify components according to measurements and specifications.
- Take appropriate action to repair components and to ensure proper operation of equipment.
- Utilize hand-held tools such as a hand-held screw and drill gun.
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation.
- Reporting issues, malfunctions, or defective parts to the Supervisor and Team Leader.
- Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
- Keep records of production quantities and time.
- Maintain knowledge of products and how they are assembled.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- At least five years of mechanical assembly experience is required.
- Experience in lighting or a very closely related industry is preferred.
- Experience using a broad range of tools.
- Advanced technical knowledge.
- Manual dexterity to put parts together quickly and accurately.
- High level of detail, precision, and focus.
- Excellent reading comprehension and capacity to follow written directions.
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Physical demands and abilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended or continuous periods.
- Ability to climb staircases, ladders, and step stools.
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and climb occasionally.
- Ability to operate machinery and associated equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
