We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Corporate Manufacturing Tax Accountant Analyst.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and tax preparation, with a keen eye for financial analysis, experience leading projects of varying size and complexity, corporate tax department or public accounting firm.

Duties:
  • Conduct financial analysis, including reviewing and analyzing financial reports, accounts, and tax returns.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and tax returns.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions and tax filings.
  • Utilize accounting software, such as Quicken, to manage financial data and prepare financial reports.
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 3 years sales and use tax experience in Corporate Tax or Public Accounting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Determination and Compliance.
  • Experience with certificate management software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Responsible for timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns and reconciliations.
  • Maintain exemption certificate software and tax determination application.  Identify where exposures exist and resolve.
  • Assist with governmental sales and use tax audits.
  • Assist with and ensure month-end close deadlines are met.
 
Other Duties as assigned and the following:
  • Review the initial determination of taxation on purchase invoices and identify areas of opportunity.  Perform reverse audits where needed.
  • Advise Sales & Use Tax Supervisor of areas of opportunity and strategies for minimizing tax exposures.
  • Conduct technical research and documentation, as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Proficiency in SAP.
  • Proficiency in CCH or other tax research tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal with shifting priorities and deadlines.
