Senior Electrical and Automation Engineer

The Senior Electrical & Automation Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical, automation, MES, and digital systems. Your expertise will be crucial in gaining deep process knowledge of the production lines and excelling in troubleshooting various issues. As a Senior Electrical & Automation Engineer, you will execute comprehensive end-to-end projects within the realm of electrical and automation engineering. This includes managing the entire project lifecycle, developing detailed technical documentation and specifications, overseeing the procurement process, programming systems, and conducting assembly and commissioning activities. In addition to project execution, your role will involve providing valuable technical expertise and training to operators and technicians. You will actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals and drive innovation in the field of electrical and automation engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical & Automation System Design: Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical and automation systems in food production plants, including power distribution, control panels, PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.
- Process Automation: Develop and implement automation solutions to enhance food manufacturing processes, from ingredient handling to packaging and distribution.
- Project Leadership: Manage electrical and automation projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring adherence to budget, timelines, and quality standards.
- System Integration: Collaborate with production teams to integrate electrical and automation systems with manufacturing equipment, improving process control, data collection, and reporting.
- Control Systems Engineering: Design and program PLCs and SCADA systems to control and monitor food production lines. Ensure systems are optimized for maximum efficiency, scalability, and uptime.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Provide expert troubleshooting and technical support for electrical and automation systems. Minimize downtime by resolving issues quickly and effectively.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with food industry safety standards, electrical codes, and environmental regulations. Advocate for best practices in electrical and automation safety.
- Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain detailed documentation for control systems, electrical designs, and system upgrades. Prepare reports on system performance, risk assessments, and compliance audits.
- Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, maintenance) to align automation solutions with production goals. Mentor junior engineers and technicians to develop a high-performing team.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with trends in food production automation, implementing new technologies and solutions that improve productivity, quality, and sustainability in food manufacturing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical and automation engineering, with a focus on manufacturing or food production industries.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, etc.), SCADA, HMI systems, and industrial control systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control circuits in a production environment.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
- Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
