IT Specialist II

We seek a skilled and versatile IT Technician who is comfortable providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support while taking on special projects and leading implementations. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5+ years of experience in IT support and will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving our IT systems. In addition to handling day-to-day technical issues, the IT Technician will work on critical IT projects, from system upgrades to network implementations, ensuring smooth execution from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for internal users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues via phone, email, or in-person support.
- Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment (computers, printers, servers, etc.).
- Participate in special projects.
- Lead system upgrades, network deployments, and hardware installations.
- Working within our ERP system to optimize functionality.
- Lead and execute implementation projects such as new software rollouts or system migrations.
- Collaborate with senior management to improve processes, security, and efficiency within the organization.
- Document all troubleshooting steps, procedures, and solutions in a ticketing system.
- Monitor and maintain system performance, ensuring uptime and reliability.
- Provide training and guidance to end-users on new systems or software implementations.
- Assist with IT compliance activities such as auditing systems for accuracy and obtaining reports needed for compliance certifications.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT support (Tier 1 & 2).
- Strong troubleshooting skills with hardware, software, and network systems.
- Experience with migrating or implementing new systems or networks.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting networking components (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work tasks.
