Disability Assessment Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to perform disability assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. This position does NOT involve treating or prescribing medication, but you will be responsible for examining 3-5 veterans per day on average and documenting your findings through an electronic web portal. Your role will be to analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete questionnaires and form medical opinions, in order to support the US Veterans Administration in making disability determinations. Key attributes of a successful candidate will be an ability to perform independent medical assessments, strong time management skills, a current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license, and proficiency with computers. Training and continued support will be provided, and there will be health insurance options available. All work will be performed in a clinical setting.

  • Requirements: Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license and ability to meet credentialing requirements set by the VA
  • Responsibilities: Perform disability assessments on veterans, analyze data from medical records and exam findings, document findings through electronic web portal
