Intern, Financial Planning & Analysis

ABOUT THE PROGRAM - Summer 2025 Internship

  3. Visit our nearby power plants: Grand Ridge Energy Center and Nelson Energy Center

  6. Attend a networking mixer to learn more about and engage with representatives from our various affinity groups (Women's Network, LGBTQ+, Black & Brown, Veteran's Network, & more)
  7. Explore Chicago with your fellow interns
  8. Our program takes place from June - August lasting for 10-12 weeks

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

As an Intern on our FP&A team, you will have the unique opportunity to work with an excellent team to understand how Invenergy manages liquidity domestically & internationally including: cash management, short-term cash forecasting, credit support, foreign exchange and investments. In addition, you will have the opportunity to see how this experience applies to our long-term budgeting, planning and analysis process. All the while, paving the way to make a difference in the future of Invenergy and sustainable energy.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Gain an understanding of the Financial close process for Invenergy's transactions (bank account activities, collateral replacement, impact on the financial statements, etc.).
  2. Contribute to overall cash management strategy & support daily cash forecasting activities.
  3. Oversee bank fee analysis across multiple banks.
  4. Assist with FBAR activities.
  5. Assist with daily Investment & Foreign Exchange transactions.
  6. Conduct ongoing analysis of key business drivers, trends, and metrics and provide recommendations on actions and next steps.
  7. Assist with the monthly and quarterly reporting on relevant operational and financial metrics across corporate overhead and all of Invenergy's business segments.
  8. Contribute to the monthly preparation and review of the company-wide budget vs. actual performance.
  9. Take the lead on one process improvement project over the course of the summer under the guidance of the team.
  10. Provide support to ad hoc requirements as they arise.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Currently enrolled in a 4-year Bachelor's degree program with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and Summer 2026
  2. Majoring in finance, accounting, economics, or related discipline.
  3. Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  2. Demonstrated Interest in the renewable energy or clean energy sector.
