columbia, United States Smith, Howell & Associates, LLC Full time

We are looking for an experienced Pre-closing Paralegal to join our law firm. The main role of the Pre-closing Paralegal is to facilitate the initial aspects of the purchase process including reviewing title, obtaining buyer and seller information, and scheduling and coordinating with clients, buyers, and sellers.

The right person must share our core values - what we refer to as the “Be-attitudes of Smith, Howell”

Be Better. We believe in continuous improvement. Every person on our team regularly sharpens his or her skills through training, mentorship, and group problem-solving.

Be Kind. We follow the Golden Rule. We know it is a little old fashioned, but we honestly believe that people ought to be treated the way we ourselves want to be treated.

Be Happy. We are happy because our clients are happy, and try never to lose sight of what a happy occasion purchasing a home should be.

Be Honest. No one’s perfect and despite our best efforts, things happen. Our mistakes do not define us, how we handle our mistakes will.

Be Involved. Proper perspective means putting family life first. We work hard while staying focused on the big picture for ourselves and our clients: family, friendships, health, work-life balance, and civic and community involvement.

Be Prepared. We believe that failure to plan is planning for failure and do our very best to be ready for any contingency that may come our way.
