Position Description:
As our Director of Development & Donor Relations, you'll be a key leader driving NCF's mission. You’ll shape our asset development strategy, nurture donor relationships, and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation. Your work will directly impact the growth of philanthropy in Nevada and support transformative community initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Team Management
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for business development, donor engagement, and community outreach
- Lead and mentor a team of development professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration
- Report directly to the CEO and participate in strategic planning at the executive level
- Set and achieve ambitious development goals (new business & legacy donors) while ensuring sustainable growth
Asset Development & Growth
- Work with CEO to create and execute on business development strategies to grow the foundation's assets through planned giving, endowment building, and complex gifts
- Monitor and analyze development trends and adjust strategies accordingly
- Ensure best practices in donor database management and gift processing
Donor Experience
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective donors, including individuals, families, and corporations
- Design and implement innovative donor stewardship programs that enhance the giving experience
- Create personalized giving strategies that align donor interests with community needs
- Develop and oversee donor recognition programs and special events
Community Engagement & Impact
- Serve as a key brand ambassador for the foundation in the community
- Identify and cultivate new partnership opportunities to expand the foundation's reach and impact
- Oversee community outreach initiatives that raise awareness of the foundation's mission
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of progressive experience in development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of successful fundraising and relationship-building
- Experience managing and mentoring development professionals
- Strong understanding of philanthropic vehicles and planned giving strategies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strategic thinking and analytical capabilities
