Easte rn New Mexico Medical Center is a Joint Commission accredited 162-bed Level III Trauma facility with inpatient and outpatient care, and has a service area of 250,000.

The nearest large medical centers in Lubbock and Albuquerque are a 3-hour drive away, resulting in a broad scope of general surgery practice. Roswell is a community of 48,000 in Southeast New Mexico. Local attractions include the UFO Festival in July, Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Bottomless Lakes State Park, concert venues, the zoo, museums, and multiple golf courses.
