That growth has led us to expand to different markets and we are in need of a Senior Tax Manager to be at the center of our business needs in the Long Beach, Fresno, Reedley CA and Las Vegas office. What you will do:

The Core Tax Services Senior Manager is responsible for advising clients on the tax implications of their business objectives, evaluating, and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance, identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations while acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues. In this role, the Core Tax Services Senior Manager is charged with applying knowledge to understand potential tax issues and recognizing and communicating potential risks and potential changes in the tax policy. In addition, the Core Tax Services Senior Manager will be involved in the marketing, networking, and business development within an area of expertise and specialization and may be asked to provide written tax advice to clients.

What you bring to the role:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other relevant field required.
  2. Master’s in accountancy or other relevant field preferred.
  3. Eight (8) or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience required.
  4. Industry expertise in one or more tax specialty preferred.
  5. Prior supervisory experience required.

License/Certifications:

  1. CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations) required.
  2. Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role beneficial.

Software:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; specifically, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint. Experience with Adobe Acrobat preferred. Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software preferred.

  3. Capable of developing and managing a team of tax professionals.
  4. Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills as well as decision-making skills.
  5. Able to work well in a team environment.
  6. Ability to work in a deadline driven environment and successfully multi-task while working in coordination with other professionals while maintaining an attention to detail.
  7. Understand and maintain the confidentiality of all information.
  8. Ability to relate with diverse personalities in a tactful and mature manner.
  9. Ability to respond tactfully and professionally in high demand situations.
  10. Takes ownership of work and completes tasks in a timely manner.
  11. Ability to prioritize and meet both client and departmental demands.
  12. Ability to efficiently process data using strong technology skills.
  13. Ability to compose written tax advice.
  14. Capable of effectively developing and maintaining client relationships.
  15. Executive presence and ability to act as primary client contact for preparation and presentation of issues and resolutions to clients.
