Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM


Job Overview: Gateway Community Charters is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. This full-time position will provide speech-language support services to students across three different sites, all conveniently located on the same property. Though covering multiple sites, the travel distance between them is minimal. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and collaborate with educational staff to enhance communication outcomes for students.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students, as assigned by the supervising SLP.
  • Assist the SLP in screening and assessing students with speech and language needs.
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention plans developed by the SLP.
  • Document student progress and maintain records of therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student development.
  • Travel between three school sites located on the same property.
  • Participate in meetings, training, and professional development as required.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Current SLPA license in the state of California.
  • Experience working with children in a school setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
