Principal RFIC Design Engineer

Do you want to join our clients Digital Business Unit which is seeking a Principal RFIC Design Engineer to join the R&D team. They are a global semiconductor leader, pioneering advancements in intelligent RF/wireless communication products that bridge the physical and digital worlds.


The Principal RFIC Design Engineer role:

  • Conduct RFIC design, integration, development, and validation for integrated RF/wireless communication system-on-chip (SoC).
  • Collaborate with system and digital teams to establish RF/Analog front-end design requirements and block specifications.
  • Collaborate with other analog/RFIC design engineers to coordinate chip integration and provide layout teams with comprehensive guidelines.
  • Work with product application and production teams to finalize chip characterization, develop production tests, and deliver end-customer support.
  • Provide technical support, and leadership and mentor junior members of the team.


What we need for the Principal RFIC Design Engineer role:

  • Educational Requirements: MSEE degree with 15+ years or Ph.D. degree with 10+ years of industry experience in RF/Analog circuit design using advanced CMOS processes.
  • Design Experience: Expertise in RF front-end circuits such as LNAs, Mixers, and PAs, as well as baseband analog circuits, including ADC/DAC and filter design.
  • Technical Background: Strong foundation in CMOS RF transceiver architectures for modern communication systems.
  • Process Knowledge: In-depth understanding of device physics and advanced CMOS processes.
  • Modeling and Simulation: Proficient in Verilog-A/AMS and Matlab for behavioral modeling and system-level simulations.
  • Design experience in WiFi/Bluetooth/Cellar systems is strongly preferred.
  • Simulation Tools: Extensive knowledge of RF/Analog circuit simulation tools and testing techniques.
  • Test Equipment: Hands-on experience with RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers and network analyzers.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
