Commodities Trade Support

A market leading, global multi-manager hedge fund, are looking to hire an operations SME specific to its power trading business, to be based in their Connecticut office.

This is a newly created hire, to directly support the firm’s ‘US Power’ business, working as a ‘number 2’ to the operations manager. Whilst ‘operations’ in title, the remit combines middle office & trader assistant tasks – core to the role are trade bookings, trade capture / trade matching, investigating breaks / P&L issues, working closely to the treasury team and prime brokers responsibilities. Working on continuous process improvement / automation projects + taking on a variety of ad-hoc tasks & projects from senior management + power traders is also prevalent in the role. It is a business facing position, with high level exposure to leading commodity investment professionals.

Candidates should ideally have 5-10yrs experience, from either a hedge fund or commodity trading house (we could potentially consider IB candidates, but it is not the preferred option). Prior experience supporting power (and ideally natural gas) trading is required. Excellent communication skills and an ability to work well in a front office environment are a pre-requisite.

The role has some flexibility around base salary depending on the level of experience that we hire at + bonuses can be a large % of base for a top performer.

The firm offer WFH flexibility – it possible to work a 3 day office / 2 day wfh week, if you choose to.
