Tech Fab is looking for an Operation Manager to lead and oversee all operations at our industrial fabrication facility in Houston, TX. This position demands a seasoned leader with extensive experience in heavy industrial fabrication, oil and gas equipment manufacturing, and field operations. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, managing resources, and ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN OPERATIONS MANAGER

This role will oversee the production and delivery of projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company standards while fostering strong client relationships. You will lead the development of operational budgets, schedules, and resource plans, implement and maintain robust safety programs, and supervise department managers to align with organizational goals. Collaborating with engineering, quality control, and procurement teams, you will ensure compliance with ASME, AISC, and other relevant codes. By analyzing operational data and driving continuous improvement initiatives, you will help shape and optimize our processes for long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of operations, including manufacturing, project execution, fieldwork, and onsite-management.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to establish and execute company strategies and goals with appropriate metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the operations team, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee resource allocation, ensuring optimal utilization of personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Monitor project performance metrics and lead efforts to meet or exceed KPIs.
  • Solve complex operational challenges and implement long-term solutions.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in heavy industrial fabrication, oil and gas equipment, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management, process optimization, and team leadership.
  • Extensive knowledge of ASME, API, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Advanced knowledge of heavy industrial fabrication requirements and processes, including welding, materials, and assembly standards.
  • Expertise in the fabrication of processing equipment such as tanks, pressure vessels, and other related systems.
  • Advanced skill in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications, with the ability to identify potential issues or modifications to prevent design or fabrication failures.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and operational costs.
  • Proven ability to drive cultural and operational change in a complex environment.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effectively communicate in English (read, write, speak) – bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and great time management skills
  • Must be physically located in Houston, TX


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced certifications in project management, lean manufacturing, or related areas.
  • Knowledge of midstream and downstream oil and gas equipment and processes.
  • Familiarity with modern ERP and operational management software.
